March Club Rally - Formal In-House Gymkhana

This months rally will be in the form of a FORMAL GYMKHANA.
For those that haven't had a go at a formal gymkhana don't be daunted this is the perfect way to get some experience in a friendly and supportive environment.   Please note there will be a $10 cost to cover the ribbons etc.
Below are a few pointers:

Format and approximate schedule - subject to unforeseen changes

  • 7am - set up
  • 8am - Line up and gear check
  • 8.30 - Gymkhana begins with riders split into their 4 groups. (Please note that as this is an in-house gymkhana we will ride in our usual groups, however in a normal gymkhana of any sort you ride in your age category).
  • 10.00/10.30am approximately - morning tea - this will be once the presentation, rider class and youth handler classes have been completed
  • 11am - Sporting and jumping classes begin.  You will rotate with your group through the various activities, please listen carefully for instructions at morning tea time.

Expectations

  • Formal Uniform should be worn.  This includes: White long sleeved shirt, MoggillPC tie, beige jodphurs or trousers, riding boots and helmet (to required standard). 
  • Optional: Brown vest and Moggill badge/pin
  • Your horse/pony should be bathed and brushed ahead of the day and presented clean and tidy
  • Plaiting is recommended for the presentation phase, if you aren't sure of how to plait your horses mane take a look at this link Plaiting your horses mane and for plaiting your horses tail try Plaiting your horses Tail     
  • You should clean and oil your tack and boots and try to look as tidy as possible, hairnets for long hair are a good idea
  • If you ride with short jodphur boots jodphurs clips are a bonus!

The program can be obtained by emailing moggillnews@gmail.com and includes:

  • Presentation class (as above, riders should be mounted)
  • Rider class 
  • Youth Handler 
  • Sporting games (Boune Pony, Maroochy Bend, Keyhole, Barrels, Mug Race, Nambour Nuisance
  • Jumping AM7 (for groups 2,3 and 4)

Stables
As we discovered last muster the fantastic new stables are at a premium!  Please email moggillnews@gmail.com if you wish to book a stable and you will be allocated a number corresponding to a stable.  It is your responsibility to ensure the stable is clean when you leave and all manure is placed on the muck heap.  Stables that are left unclean will be noted and the responsible person will be on stable cleaning duty before and after rally the following month!
