Next rally will focus on Combined Training. Combined Training is a two phase competition that starts with a dressage test followed by a round of Show Jumping. The combined scores give the final placings. In this case we not be running as a competitive event but as a rally and therefore as a training and learning day.
The dressage tests have been chosen depending on your riding group (if you are unsure which group you usually ride in please email moggillnews@gmail.com). All the tests can be found via the Pony Club Australia Queensland www.pcaq.asn.au via the Resources and then Rule Books tabs. Or by clicking the link below:
The tests have been selected to be appropriate to the level of the groups, in some case there are a choice of 2 tests, you only need to learn ONE.
The selected tests are:
Group 1 - Walk Trot A
Group 2 - Prep A (for those not comfortable cantering) or Prelim 1.1(i)
Group 3 - Prelim 1A
Group 4 - Prelim 1.3 OR Novice 2A
Given the non-competitive nature of the day we would really recommend that if there is a choice of test for your group that you stretch yourself to have a go at the next level.
PLEASE NOTE:
Groups 3 & 4 should be prepared to ride their test without a caller (as would be required in competition), that means they need to learn it by heart.
You are require to present formally. This means riders should be in formal Moggill uniform and saddle pads (this is white shirt, tie, beige jodphurs and optional badge and vest). Your horse should also be plaited (or hogged).
The Show Jumping heights will be suitable for the abilities of the riders.
Please RSVP Gemma moggillnews@gmail.com if you are coming to this rally so we can ensure the correct number of dressage judges.
